Erin + Brian’s New Year’s Eve Wedding
This gorgeous winter wedding rang in the New Year in the best way possible. Planned by
and captured by
, Erin and Brian celebrated the New Year as husband and wife with their family and loved ones at
in Lake Tahoe.Erin and Brian chose to plan their wedding over the holidays to work around Erin's school schedule as she was finishing medical school throughout planning! Because so many of their guests were coming from far away, they wanted to be sure they were able to still have an amazing New Year's Eve party to attend as well as a wedding. Rather than try to extend the day with an early ceremony they embraced the darkness of nighttime and surrounded the Ritz Fireside Terrace with lights in the trees, strung bistro lights overhead, and even incorporated Christmas lights in the chuppah. Although it was dark and snowy out guests stayed warm with blankets and a hot chocolate bar (with the option to spike, of course!).
Planning wise they went for a clear difference between the cocktail hour and the reception in the ballroom: the foyer was decked out in champagne colored sequined linens from
white flowers, and all white furniture from
while the inside was decorated in rich leather chesterfield sofas, dark wood tables, and red accents in linens, napkins, and flowers. The lights were kept low so the focal wall behind the dance floor could really shine. The dining tables were arranged in a large U-shape on one side of the room, separated from the dance floor by open shelving showcasing photos from both the bride's and groom's families. Late in the evening, guests were treated to a DIY taco bar, fireworks from the terrace, custom s'mores favors, and confetti cannons inside the

From the Bride:Advice: Don't stress over things you can't control! I was so worried that snow would impact people's travel plans, but everyone was excited & things went smoothly!Favorite part of planning: Knowing all of the cool surprises we had planned for our guests and getting ready to ring in the New Year with all of my favorite people in one place! That and the cake tasting :)Favorite memory: getting to marry Brian, of course! During our ceremony, I was freezing but couldn't help tearing up a bit as we said our vows. The moment immediately after the ceremony when we first sipped champagne as a married couple was one I'll never forget!
