A Rustic Chic Winter Elopement
Though their elopement was small, Katie and Taylor went big on style! You can't look at their wedding photos without falling head over heels for their "rustic chic" vision, which the bride describes as "if Coco Chanel fell in love with a lumberjack."
Taylor grew up in San Francisco, taking trips to his family's vacation home in Tahoe, and when Katie visited for the first time, she was blown away by the magic of the area. They agreed that a snowy winter wedding in the mountains was a perfect fit.
Though they had originally planned a larger wedding, plans shifted to an elopement due to COVID. And the downsized event became a reflection of their shared love of coziness, the mountains, and spending time with loved ones.
A classic and comfy lodge vibe came to life through a palette that channeled the colors of Lake Tahoe: rich, velvety forest greens playfully intertwined with various shades of blue, white, cream, and blush pinks.
Katie and Taylor exchanged handwritten vows in a ceremony officiated by
, in front of an A-frame floral arch on the cabin's deck. Afterward, the intimate group gathered inside for a toast and the newlyweds' first dance.
Elton John's "Your Song" was performed by Taylor's sister, vocalist Sydney Angel, and her boyfriend, American musical theatre actor and writer Randy Blair. Their musical performance was accompanied by guitarist Joel Ackerson.
After the elopement, everyone gathered at the Bistro at Edgewood Tahoe Resort for dinner, dessert, and more toasts. After their elopement events, Katie and Taylor spent their wedding weekend being cozy to the max: flannel pajamas, board games, and a roaring fire at the cabin.
Congratulations Katie and Taylor on your beautiful - and cozy - Lake Tahoe winter elopement!
