Our Photographer's Favorite Tahoe Reception Locations

Lake Tahoe is full of incredible wedding venues. Whatever you are looking for you can find in Tahoe: an intimate wedding set amidst the pines or an exquisite wedding at a lakefront estate. To help you narrow down the many options you have we talked with our Tahoe Unveiled photographers who are experts at Tahoe weddings. They know these venues inside and out and shared with us a few of their favorites!

Calvin Hobson Photography

: Calvin Hobson shared with us his love for two distinct Tahoe venues. "I get excited when I get an inquiry with

Dancing Pines

as the venue. Weddings on the riverside surrounded by a massive forest, receptions in a beautiful clearing with backlit sunsets. The entire property is a recipe for the best photos."

Calvin's other favorite venue is The Ehrman Mansion. "The Ehrman Mansion is another favorite, it's so hard to pick just one. It's practically a castle on the West Shore of Tahoe. Looking back from the dock, the waters are the deepest turquoise you can imagine. I never get sick of shooting here!"

Jocelyn Noel shared with us her love of estate weddings in Tahoe. "Private Estates are my all-time favorite venues. They're intimate and relaxed, at the same time elegant and carefully stylized. They tend to encompass multi-day celebrations, that take in the fullness of Lake Tahoe. You can experience a luxury dinner with a personal chef, Bloody Marys by pool the day after the wedding, sunset boating excursions to peak bagging using the estate as the base for all of these wedding week activities."

Jocelyn also shared with us a private estate that she absolutely adores. "For destination weddings and those that don't own their own estates in Tahoe (wink, wink) , I'm a huge fan of Villa Bella (formerly Fitzhaven). It's got this delightfully, understated East meets West style. A clean, white canvas with careful craftsman accents. The estate is on 22 private acres and has access to an exclusive lakefront. Plus a killer overview of *almost* the entire lake."

Jennifer Nichols of

Nichols Photographers

shares why she loves weddings at Zephyr Lodge at Northstar. "Zephyr Lodge is a stunning venue, set atop the mountain at Northstar Resort. Guests enjoy a gondola ride up to the outdoor ceremony site, with views of the beautiful mountain landscape, and the sunsets never disappoint. We always enjoy shooting here!"

Courtney Aaron

shared with us that South Lake Tahoe's

Black Bear Lodge

is her absolute favorite! "

Black Bear Lodge

is a boutique hotel with intimate garden settings within the city of South Lake Tahoe. It's mountain modern with hints of rustic charm. The light and lush gardens are amazing. It's the perfect canvas for all mountain wedding styles and the owners are wonderful folks with major hospitality points. And, it's just a quick hop to nearby beach settings for those lake portraits!"
