Our Favorite Tahoe Wedding Caterers

Everyone will agree that food is one of the focal points of your wedding day. So why not leave one of the most important things about your wedding to the experts? To help you find the right wedding caterer, we talked to three local companies to learn more about their meal services and menu tastings.

Petite Street, Dancing Pines, Elise Events, Chalet View Lodge and Kari Henrichsen.

How does your menu tasting work?
We offer tastings for non-booked clients starting at $250.00. For the two of you to come in, you will get to choose eight menu items to sample included in the tasting. If you are booked with a deposit down, we will do a complimentary tasting for the two of you. Again, you will get to choose eight menu items to sample included in the tasting. If you would like to sample more than the initial eight, we are happy to do so and apply a tasting fee accordingly.

The tasting will take place at our tasting kitchen and office located in Reno. Here are some tips regarding your tasting:

*You can choose to taste more than eight items. However, I wouldn’t recommend doing too much more. Eight items are the sweet spot for having enough variety and avoiding decision fatigue.
*I recommend starting with 2-3 appetizers, 2-3 entrees, then adding on sides, desserts, or late night from there. Note: Many appetizers double as late-night snacks.
*Choose items that YOU want to serve at YOUR wedding.
*I recommend tasting for quality. If you taste the red wine caramel short rib and it’s good, you can imagine that the grilled chicken is probably good too.
*Don’t taste things that have obvious flavors. Instead, taste things you may have never had before and are curious about.

How will the food be prepared on the wedding day?
First, we do all of the major bulk preparation at our facility located in the Reno area. From there, we transport all food to the venue cold and do all finishing cooking onsite. Finally, we bring in all the necessary equipment to execute a seamless serving experience.
