Classic White and Green Summer Wedding at Dancing Pines

There is just something about a Truckee wedding. Especially if the wedding takes place on the banks of the Little Truckee River, framed by sierra pine trees. That’s the location where Kylie and Nick tied the knot, surrounded by their loved ones and the most beautiful floral arrangements by B&B Designs. And now you can relive all the beautiful moments, thanks to Kay Kroshus

Nick is originally from South Lake Tahoe, and Kylie just fell in love with the area. She explained, “His family still lives there, and I love visiting. So, I knew early on I wanted to get married in the area.” And what better place than the gorgeous riverside venue, Dancing Pines?

Unique elements of their special day included Kylie’s bridesmaids wearing white. The couple also decided not to have a ceremony arch. Kylie loved the grandiose look the two pines gave that they were married in between. They also opted for simple decor – greenery, candles on the tables, and white floral arrangements lining the ceremony aisles. “Our venue was so beautiful; I wanted to let nature be the decor.”

During that time, the Caldor and Dixie fire were also burning, which Kylie described as “nerve-wracking” but also out of their control. However, she admitted that the smoke getting trapped in the trees gave the wedding and their photos a “moody look.”

The couple considers their ceremony as one of their wedding highlights. “The processional walked out to River by Leon Bridges was so fitting for the ceremony site in front of the Truckee River. The ceremony was sweet, emotional, and perfect for us.” Kylie also loved that her nieces took advantage of the open dance floor during dinner seeing that everyone watched them dance and loved it. Another highlight was the speeches. Kylie’s sister Lindsay had everyone laughing, followed by tears. Same for the best man Brian who gave such a heartfelt and humorous speech.

But what stood out to us was the couple’s thoughtfulness regarding seating their guests. They sat them with people they knew or would have interesting conversations with. “I wasn’t into a head table where the wedding party had to sit up front together. I wanted them to have fun and reserved the head table for our immediate family and us.”

Kylie’s recommendation to other couples is to not sweat the small stuff. “Truly, you are the only person that will notice. Soak the day up because it is about you and the person you’re marrying. Make it all about you two, and it will be the best day of your life.”

Congratulations, Kylie and Nick – here’s to a lifetime full of love and happiness!
