After numerous colorful and meaningful cultural ceremonies and celebrations earlier in the day, Cassandra and Ramit gathered with their guests in The Woods at the Ritz-Carlton, Lake Tahoe for an afternoon Catholic wedding ceremony.
Cass wore an elegant column dress by Katie May, leaving on the bangles from the anand garaj (Sikh marriage ceremony) that morning. The couple performed a candle lighting ritual to symbolize their union.
Departing down the aisle hand in hand, Cass and Ramit made their way to the Ritz’s Fireside Terrace for a celebratory cocktail hour. Everyone then moved to the tent which had been transformed from an Indian spice bazaar to an outdoor garden. The tables and minimalist decor flowed seamlessly with the mountain meadow setting for an al fresco dinner party.
The bride and groom’s parents gave speeches and then the couple had their first dance to “You Send Me” by Aretha Franklin. DJ Goga got the party started and a multi-generational dance party ensued, with family and friends reveling together in the abundant love and joy expressed through Cass and Ramit’s day of celebrations. An after-hours party in the main living room of The Ritz-Carlton gave everyone a chance to wind down.
