Ways To Make Your Wedding Support The Tahoe Community

When getting married one of the first things guests will want to know is where you are registered. Some couples decide that instead of asking for gifts they would like to have their guests donate to a cause they love. Couples can find ways to give to causes they like to support or find other ways to support the local community when getting married. Lake Tahoe is a community that loves to help and is full of non-profits that support the local community. We have listed just a few of those organizations to inspire your wedding day giving.

Looking to book a band that supports the local community? Tahoe Music Professionals offers amazing local talent for your wedding music. By hiring the Tahoe Music Pros you are not only getting some rocking music for your wedding but also supporting a local non-profit. A portion of the fee when hiring musicians from the Tahoe Music Pros supports the Tahoe Truckee School of Music, a local vibrant, non-profit community music program. Many of the artists are also instructors at the school and help spread the magic of music to local students of all ages!

Looking for a venue for your wedding day? Valhalla Tahoe is a gorgeous site located in South Lake Tahoe right on the water. Valhalla is a non-profit and all of the money generated on-site goes toward their mission of preserving Tahoe heritage through arts and culture in the community.

All of Valhalla’s events are offered at low or no-cost and the couples who marry there help achieve this mission. Valhalla has an agreement with the United States Forest Service that requires them to invest 15% off gross profits back into the property. So 15% of every wedding venue fee goes back to preserving and restoring the buildings at the Heller Estate on the Tallac Historic Site.

Anyone in the area knows the popular stickers adorning cars everywhere that say Keep Tahoe Blue. Why not have guests donate to the League to Save Lake Tahoe? The League to Save Lake Tahoe is dedicated to the environmental health, sustainability, and beauty of Lake Tahoe. They focus on water quality and clarity and without them, Tahoe would not be known for the amazing stunning hues of blue that we have all come to love.

Achieve Tahoe, based in North Lake Tahoe, is an adaptive sport and recreation non-profit for people with disabilities. You can often see Achieve Tahoe instructors on the slopes of Alpine Meadows guiding disabled skiers on the hill. Achieve Tahoe offers over 51 years of experience and their staff and volunteers help participants discover a life without limits. Their mission is to provide affordable inclusive physical and recreational activities that build health, confidence, and independence.

If you are looking for ways that your wedding can help support the local Tahoe community that you love, there are endless options and we hope that just a glimpse will help inspire you to find one that inspires you!
