Think about adding a personalized touch to your Tahoe wedding? This couple used their Nana’s old convertible as their wedding getaway car, and we’re here for it! Here’s everything you need to know about Kelli and Adam’s stunning summer wedding captured by Taylor Benedickt.
The couple was set up for a blind date by mutual friends back in college in 2013. Kelli was 19 years old, and Adam was 21. They instantly clicked, and the rest is, as they say, history!
They decided on Lake Tahoe as their wedding destination because it was their very first vacation together. Kelli explained, “During our first year of dating, Adam took me to Tahoe for Valentine’s Day. And I fell in love with the area. Being from SoCal, I had never been to Tahoe. It was a special place for us, and we kept going back each year!”
A few of the couple’s highlights included Kelli’s first look with her dad and writing personal vows, which they describe as “magical.” Their first dance was to You’re Still the One by Shania Twain, a song both of their moms raised them on. In addition, the couple also used Kellie’s Nana’s old convertible as their getaway car!
What we love about this wedding is that the couple made almost everything themselves. Everything was DIY with the help of family and friends. They even ask one of their close friends to be their florist!
If there were one thing Kelli and Adam would do differently, it would be to do a first look before the ceremony. Because that way, they could have taken their pictures right away before the day’s heat took over. “I thought it wouldn’t be as special, but ultimately the entire day is special, and nothing can take away from that. Also, getting the personal photos done right away leaves you with more time to spend with guests at the party!”
