Searching for the ultimate music festival wedding? Look no further than Bailey and Spencer’s boho disco at the iconic mountain valley venue Olympic Valley Stables.
The couple’s love story began in 2012 when they both attended the Mountain Vibe Music Festival in Eagle Lakes. Spencer played bass in his band, Arden Park Roots, while Bailey supported another band. A mutual friend introduced the two, igniting a passionate love that would grow over nine years. Spencer even admitted to knowing Bailey was “the one” that very same night after she took him and his band on a glow stick hunt through the woods.
The couple has a mutual passion for music, traveling, learning about life, spreading positivity, all things Bootsy (their Bernese Mountain Dog), and supporting one another through obstacles and transitions throughout their lives. “To us, love means being a team, treating each other as equals, experiencing life together, living in the moment, putting each other first, and having each other’s back no matter what,” Bailey explained. This sentiment came in handy when Covid struck, and the duo had to deal with postponed plans and setbacks. “This really showed us the strength of our relationship and only added to the hype of our big day for our guests and us.” Luckily, the couple had no problem in the creative department! Bailey has intense creativity and enthusiasm for life. She is passionate about paying attention to details and turning her life into the cutest Pinterest board. That also applied to their wedding, and of course, she had her sights set on planning the wedding of the century. And, according to all the guests that attended, she succeeded!
“We knew that we wanted to get married where we met – in the Sierra Nevada Mountains. We also knew that we wanted to throw a music festival, which is exactly what we ended up doing.” However, it took a lot of work to find the right venue that would let the couple through an all-night music festival. But then they found the Stables, and they just knew it was the perfect fit. Also, Bailey grew up in the area, so she felt that Olympic Valley was nostalgic.
The couple found their design inspiration from their home life. They opted for a black, white, and brown color palette because it’s their favorite colors after adding Bootsy to the family. Bailey has a little obsession with disco balls and has them all over the house, so it also had to be featured in the wedding.
The day was filled with a lot of musical highlights. One of them being the music festival with their all-time favorite band, Wooster. “There were moments when we were up at the front of the stage, dancing, screaming the lyrics, and looking around in shock at what was happening all around us. It was unbelievable and incredibly magical.” The fun didn’t stop there; their six-year-old flower girl joined the band on stage and killed it. Bailey’s bridesmaids, called Boss Babes, also surprised her with a beautiful song they wrote about her. And then, of course, the silent disco from 10 pm – 2 am where everyone howled at the moon after the band ended their set. “We keep saying, don’t be sad that it’s over, be glad that it happened, because we have truly never experienced a more magical and epic day in our entire life.”
