Owners Andie and Nick have over 10 years experience in catering and barista services and they offer an exquisite menu of gelato, sorbetto, and espresso served from their one of a kind vintage Italian scooters. Cafe Apae provides a totally unique wedding dessert experience that guests will be talking about for years to come and, in this post, we get to know the fantastic local duo behind this sweet company!

Cooking for the people I love and my pup, Jax.

The idea of endless adventures right out your back door!

If you weren’t a wedding dessert caterer, what would you do?
I (Andie) would be an interior or landscape designer (which I also do on the side)
What is your pre-wedding routine?
Depending on the time of the event, I will have a cup of coffee or a glass of wine while arranging the florals for the cart(s) and creating the menu signage… All while listening to some inspiring tunes!
What inspires your work?
The love for all things vintage and the joy people get from our carts and products.
How would you describe the perfect day in Lake Tahoe?
Wake up early and be on the lake before anyone else. Then, an afternoon nap followed by a hike or bike ride, and finish it off with a big dinner with friends.
What are you most proud of?
Building my company!
Who inspires you the most?
My partner, Nick.
What is your life motto?
Choose a job you love, so you’ll never have to work a day in your life.
What was the most recent thing that made you laugh?
Tubing down the Truckee River on a raft that was half inflated.
Working in the wedding industry is not for the faint of heart. How do you rest and rejuvenate?
Before or after every event, we like to treat ourselves to a nice dinner and spend the next day unwinding.
What is something people might not know about you?
I won a car on The Price is Right?!
Pets: Any four-legged friends in your home?
We have an English Pointer, Jax and a micro-kitty named Saddle.
