The Perfect Mountain Top Wedding

In August 2015, love took flight in an unexpected place— the workplace! Both armed with degrees in Engineering, one in Mechanical and the other in Aerospace, the couple found themselves working as Flight Test Engineers for the Navy after college. Fate brought their desks adjacent to each other, and as they say, the rest was history!

Fast forward to 2021, The bride-to-be was planning a ski trip to Montana, unaware of the carefully orchestrated plan in motion. Matt, using his clever wit, convinced her that work commitments prevented him from joining. Little did she know, he had already secured a quarantine waiver and was en route to surprise her. The proposal unfolded against the stunning backdrop of the Montana mountains, capturing the moment with the help of a sneaky photographer and her best friend.

When it came time to choose the perfect wedding destination, the couple knew they wanted an outdoor ceremony surrounded by mountains. Palisades was the ideal spot, with the allure of a tram ride to the mountain’s summit for the ceremony and reception. The decision was made even though the groom had never been to Lake Tahoe, adding an extra touch of excitement to the wedding planning.

The wedding day was a celebration of love, fun, and the coming together of friends and family. Set against the breathtaking backdrop of Lake Tahoe, the couple ensured that the focus remained on creating beautiful memories with their loved ones.

Infusing the wedding with personal touches, the bride’s favorite color, pink, took center stage as the chosen theme. The couple invested time and effort into creating a personalized invitation suite, a decision that, in hindsight, proved to be a challenge. Undeterred, they pressed on, planning to handcraft signs using linen and favors using wooden rounds gifted by the groom’s father.

Reflecting on their wedding planning journey, the couple had a valuable piece of advice: “Let someone else do your invitations!! Don’t underestimate how much it is to plan a wedding. It’s easily overwhelming.” A reminder for future couples to embrace the support available and enjoy the journey without being bogged down by the details.

As they embark on this new chapter of their lives, the couple’s Tahoe wedding stands as a testament to the beauty of love, surprises, and the breathtaking landscapes that witness the start of forever.
