Romantic Elopement Overlooking Lake Tahoe

In a perfect world, your wedding would be stress-free and spontaneous. Is it just us, or do you also get the feeling that Claire and Denver's laid-back Tahoe elopement was just that and a lot more?

Claire and Denver started the day off at an Airbnb with their adorable dog, Duke. Of course, some nerves crept in; Claire was worried about the schedule she felt she had to keep. Luckily, photographer Kelsey Gochis from Honeybee Weddings built a flexible timeline, leaving room for spontaneity. "We embraced the spontaneity of the day and didn't need things planned out minute by minute," said Kelsey.

With their backpacks in tow, the couple tackled the hike in their dress and suit. And the swoon-worthy bouquet by

led the ceremony. There wasn't a dry eye in sight when the couple exchanged their vows. Then, after sharing a memorable kiss, Claire and Denver had time to soak it all in, followed by the most beautiful bride and groom portraits at Tahoe's famous Monkey Rock.

Afterward, Kelsey admitted that she added the Monkey Rock trail to her top five hiking list, making it the perfect place to say your I do's. The couple also seemed to enjoy it - not even the steep trail could wipe the smiles off their faces. After the ceremony, Claire exclaimed, "This is the perfect day!"

The couple cruised over to Sand Harbor for more pictures as they waited for the sun to set. "We got a little sassy and cozy and pretty with our posing. These two picked up pizza, brought the champagne, and we toured Lake Tahoe in style. The Wild Goose II made us feel like we were in a James Bond movie!" said Kelsey. The sun-soaked couple made a few toasts to their special day as they sat on the back of the boat and processed the fact that their forever starts now!
