A Woodland Fairytale in South Lake Tahoe

A woodland fairy tale in South Lake Tahoe? Sign us up! Thanks to planner Trista DeWeese from Blushworthy Events and florist Michelle Barry from Iris Barry & Blooms, Brittany and Shane’s wedding vision came to life. Step inside their stunning summer wedding immaculately captured by Emma Paul Photography!

The couple’s love story began in the winter of 2018. They met among a group of mutual friends at a birthday party. “We didn’t exchange phone numbers that day but kept bumping into each other at different events. After a while, we decided it was meant to be, so we went on our first date a few months later after talking and getting to know each other more,” Britanny explained.

Shane is quiet, kindhearted, and respectful, unlike Brittany, who is outspoken, passionate, and spontaneous. She brings the adventure in the relationship while he sets the foundation for the future. Two of their favorite things to do together are travel and eat. Each year they take a trip somewhere new. And while they are there, they make reservations at all the best restaurants. “We fit together like two pieces of a puzzle, both very different but ultimately meant to be together.” No wonder Shane got down on one knee under a waterfall at a Japanese botanical garden in northern Florida after two and a half years of adventures together.

Although they met and currently live in Tampa, FL, Brittany grew up in NorCal. She often took trips to Tahoe with friends and family. After taking Shane to meet her family in California, they decided to stop in Tahoe. Shane ended up falling in love with the area. They kept coming back for vacations. So, after Shane proposed, they decided they wouldn't want to get married anywhere else.

With about 65 guests in attendance, the couple wanted to have an intimate affair with their closest friends and family. The day started under the forest trees facing the water. Guests took their seats among beautiful floral arrangements lining the aisle and a breathtaking arch with overflowing aid flowers. Brittany's brother officiated the wedding. Following the ceremony, guests found their seats on a Beauty and the Beast-inspired seating chart. The couple kicked off the cocktail hour with a champagne tower, and their guests enjoyed one of the signature drinks from Pizen & Wine's mobile thirst parlor. After that, the best man and maid of honor gave moving speeches. Next, the talented Emma Paul Photography took the couple for a sunset photoshoot on the beach. Afterward, the twinkle lights were turned on, and guests went inside to continue dancing and have fun, thanks to Epics Photobooth.

Guests had a folding fan, bubbles, and a program to read during the ceremony. However, when it came to the reception, the tables had white linens, blush table runners, and a printed love poem as a table number. In addition, each seat had mismatched water goblets and a skeleton key bottle opener that tied their napkins together. On the other hand, the sweetheart table contained fairytale books and repurposed arch flowers.

The couple said they wouldn’t change a thing about their special day. Still, they would recommend to other couples that they should hire a day of coordinator. “Trista was incredible at moving things along and making it, so we didn’t have to worry about a thing on our wedding day.”

Congrats on your happily ever after, Brittany and Shane!
