A Romantic Fall Microwedding at Valhalla Tahoe

Maggie and Scott met on New Year's Eve 2013 while she was working at Rookie's in Incline Village and he was dropping off a delivery of the legendary Truckee Sourdough Bread. This chance encounter led to many firsts for the couple around Lake Tahoe, including a first date at Alpine Meadows, their first kiss on Scott's snowmobile overlooking the lake, and a first "I love you" sitting on a rock in King's Beach. "It made sense to continue our story on the lake," the bride explained, and the historic Valhalla in South Lake Tahoe was selected as their venue.

Located on National Forest property, Valhalla Tahoe is surrounded by magnificent trees and mountains, with its Grand Lawn providing beautiful views of the lake. Maggie and Scott embraced the lodge's massive stone fireplace and worked with a mix of inspiration - from classic romance novels like the bride's favorite, "Wuthering Heights," to a variety of family traditions and, of course, Lake Tahoe's autumn color palette.

She Said Yes planned Maggie and Scott's formal, family-oriented affair, and the celebration was photographed by Woodmancy Photography. Haven Florals combined local foliage with elegant long-stemmed roses, and the three-course meal with wine pairings was served on family heirloom china dinnerware. A soup recipe of the bride's mother and grandmother and, of course, Truckee Sourdough Bread, were both on the menu.

A violinist from the Reno Philharmonic offered a nod to Scott's grandfather's favorite classical music and an abundance of candles, blankets, Victorian furniture, and a roaring fire created a cozy and old-fashioned atmosphere.
