This Couple Got Married Five Years to the Day They Met at a Private Tahoe Estate

We love all the fall vibes we’re getting from Jill and Taylor’s private estate wedding along the northwest shore of Lake Tahoe. Being a ‘Covid couple,’ they were initially planning on getting married in 2020, but the global pandemic changed things. As a result, everything was put on hold for a year. So, naturally, everyone was eager to celebrate their love when their special day came along. Check out this gallery, masterfully captured by Elsa Boscarello!

Tahoe is a special place to the couple, seeing that Taylor grew up in the area. But what makes their wedding extra special is the fact that they got married in the same backyard where Taylor’s brother got married.

Many years ago, the couple met at the annual footrace in San Francisco, Bay to Breakers. But they officially met at Jill's sister's wedding. Not only did they make a lasting impression on each other, but Elsa also couldn't have enough great things to say about the couple. "Jill lights up the room the moment she walks in; her joy and playful energy will brighten anyone's day. Taylor has the remarkable ability to be present and intentional with every one of his interactions; he makes everyone who crosses paths with him feel welcome."

To say that the couple had an adventurous journey leading to their wedding is an understatement. During their five years of dating, the couple had a long-distance relationship stretching from San Francisco to Zambia (almost 10,000 miles!) for over a year. During that time, Taylor visited, and they adventured to Victoria Falls, safaried in South Africa, and climbed dunes in Namibia together for a month. And the rest is, as they say, history!

So do the couple have any advice for other couples planning to get married? “Go into it with patience, flexibility, gratitude, and the knowledge that whatever happens (for example…a global pandemic), you’ll marry the love of your life, and that is all that matters. So don’t sweat the small stuff; take it all in and enjoy!”

Congrats, Jill and Taylor. May this be the beginning of a long and happy life together!
