For the Bride: What not to Forget During Your Reception
While you probably have been planning your Lake Tahoe wedding for months (or years) the actual ceremony and reception goes by in the blink of an eye. While it's easy to get caught up and whisked away the whole day there are a few things we suggest to try and slow down and remember to do to make your day truly memorable.
Get some alone time with your groom: While this may sound obvious, it's very easy to get caught up in seeing guests and chatting with friends. Take some time for the two of you to be alone, maybe have a drink together down by the lake after couple photos before returning to your guests or have a sweetheart table where you can eat dinner together. While it is important to spend time with your guests, it is also important to celebrate with your partner and acknowledge you guys are officially married!
Take a look around: Chances are you've spent quite a bit of time picking out every detail from the flowers to the napkins so take a look at what you've done! If you have the time, check out your reception before the guests get there so you can see everything you picked out all set up. It's truly amazing to see how things come together. The little details are the ones that will be most special to you and the ones that really showcase you guys as a couple.
Eat!: This one somehow always gets left behind. You spend a lot of time (and money) picking out a delicious menu-don't forget to enjoy it yourselves! Between chatting with friends and family photos and of course time with your new husband or wife, it's easy to let the night get away from you without getting the chance to eat. However with a long night ahead of you and one that most likely includes a little booze, it is really important to eat and stay hydrated. You'll be energized and ready to shut down the dance floor!
Relax: The months and days before a wedding can be stressful. But once your wedding day hits the planning is done and it's time to relax and enjoy your day. Think of what is important to you, breath and make sure to have the time of your life. And make sure to hit the dance floor!
Say thank you: Your guests have traveled near and far, most likely taken off work, gotten accommodation and bought a new outfit for the occasion. While they are more than happy to be there it is important to make them feel appreciated for their efforts as well as let them know how much they mean to you and how much it means to have them there for your big day. Let them know they helped make your dream a reality whether its checking in with each individual table or making a toast during the reception a little bit goes a long way.
