Alternative Rehearsal Dinner Ideas for Your Tahoe Wedding
Your rehearsal dinner is a great place to kick back and have some fun before your more structured wedding day. Anything goes and your guests will love relaxing and enjoying the night with you. There are so many fun ways to incorporate your personality and taste into your rehearsal dinner to create a memorable night.
One of our favorites is an outdoor BBQ with some of your go-to grill items on the menu: hot dogs, veggie burgers, corn, pineapple... Outdoor BBQs are a great place to offer traditional grill foods or to gourmet it up with ahi sliders for example. While she serves a beautiful backdrop, Tahoe may be the backdrop for all of your wedding photos. Opt to utilize one of the ski resorts and give your guests a memorable gondola ride to the upper mountain where you serve dinner.
Perhaps overlooked, your backyard can transform into a dining beauty for the rehearsal. String up some Italian party lights, decorate your tablescape with bright blooms and mismatched flatware and China, and have friends bring differing chairs for a bohemian inspired bounty. This will also give you the opportunity to set up a projector on the side of your home showing photos of you and your love over the years. If the slideshow seems like too much work for your current state of planning, opt for a colorful backdrop for bright and vibrant color.
A sweet tooth is no joke; odds are, most of your guests have a weakness for some sugary treats. While many of your guests may be arriving from out of town later in the evening, offer a dessert Ice Cream social or S'mores bar and cocktails instead of a full dinner. Be sure to let your guests know there won't be a full dinner to avoid misunderstanding.
While Tahoe falls on the borders of two states, many people think Nevada and think casinos. Send your guests invitations with poker chips included and a roulette card to get them excited for a fun gaming night as your rehearsal dinner. Be mindful of better guest mingling a seated cocktail hour or dinner prior to gaming will give everyone more time to greet each other.
