We’ve always had a soft spot for fall weddings, and Amalia and Chris’ South Lake Tahoe elopement reminded us why we love it so much. Not only does it have boho inspiration written all over it, but the gorgeous autumn color palette is simply out of this world!
Amalia’s initial impression of Chris was that he was the cute guy in her English Summer School class who needed to question the teacher and flirt with all the girls around him. No wonder the next couple of years in high school only consisted of hi’s and byes. After high school, they began hanging out at parties and took trips to Tahoe with mutual friends. “All our friends knew Chris was into me, but I ignored the fact that he would text me good morning every day and started watching Vampire Diaries just to have something to text me about,” Amalia said. This went on for about a year before Chris, tired of waiting, decided to pursue another girl. His strategy seemed to work because Amalia was fuming at the sight when he showed up at her best friend’s house party with another girl. And the rest is, as they say, history!
Lake Tahoe is remarkable to the couple because it is the first place they ever visited together. “We love the beauty that Tahoe offers during all seasons. Snowy mornings, hot summer nights with the best firework show in the US, and most of all breath-taking crisp autumn mornings filled with the best fall foliage.” Seeing that the couple likes to make it out to Tahoe at least two times a year, it came as no surprise when they decided to tie the knot here in an elegant woodsy ceremony.
Of course, their dreamy boho wedding wouldn’t be possible without the help of a stellar wedding team. The morning of the wedding started with Luna Belle Beauty, helping the couple get wedding-ready. Not only did they assist with hair and makeup, but they also helped with an essential groom touch-up. This was followed by their first look at the pier nearby where the couple had carved their initials five years ago. Now can we get a collective “ahhh?”
The Hytch and Mountain Vibes Rentals ensured that the ceremony and reception area was everything the couple’s Pinterest dreams were made of and more! The same goes for Meredith from Ceremonies by Meredith, who put together a magical ceremony for the couple. “Her angelic voice guided us through what’s to come next in our journey as husband and wife. She transmitted her ethereal energy to us as the mountains radiated with love, positivity, and well wishes from our loved ones back home.” Lucky for us, the talented Vanessa from Vanessa Lynne Photography captured every heartfelt moment. “None of this would have been possible without our incredible rockstar photographer. Vanessa was the first vendor we hired; we had seen her work on social media, and we were completely obsessed. She understood our vision for an intimate woodsy elopement. Vanessa assisted us with location scouting, carving out a timeline, and managing it on our wedding day. She was easy to talk to and had open communication throughout the planning process. A total dream to work with from beginning to end. It was the most perfect magical day, and we will never forget our vendors and the beautiful day they helped us create.”
