Jennifer Holmes has been involved in the North Tahoe wedding industry for almost 20 years. Her use of both light and color express a distinct natural style and are part of her essential philosophy: “Makeup is not something to hide behind, but rather a tool to enhance your natural beauty.” Jennifer started her career early as an apprentice for celebrity makeup artist Yvette Beebe, who toured with music celebrities such as Cher, Janet Jackson and Pink. She soon developed her own signature style and developed an impressive clientele specializing in makeup artistry for weddings, events, and commercial television. While her professional career is quite impressive, to say the least, she says she is most proud of the 800 plus brides she has helped shine with confidence on the most important day of their lives.
With her long career in the region, Jennifer has worked at almost all the classic Tahoe wedding venues, her favorites being the private estates with their “Old Tahoe” essence. Jen believes that the atmosphere of a wedding can influence the entire day, including makeup. What makes her unique is a gift for building a relationship with every bride she works with. Jen provides a full trial for the bride and often the mother of the bride as well, working to match the bride’s individual style and personality to her look for the day. She is open to all ideas and can do dramatic or natural. (Keep in mind, everyone’s version of natural means something different, she warns.) Bottom line, everyone should feel 100% comfortable and happy with their wedding day makeup.
