Hope Valley Autumn Elopement

Inspired by the beautiful fall colors of Hope Valley in South Lake Tahoe this creative team lead by Thistle and Honey took to the meadows for this elopement style editorial shoot. Over the years Hope Valley has continued to grow in popularity due to the wildly colorful show that is put on by the changing colors of the aspen trees leaves in the area. It is also becoming a popular place for engagement photos and elopements, and we can see why!

This absolutely stunning elopement is the pinnacle of fall weddings in Tahoe. Between the changing colors of the aspen trees and the beauty of the meadow everything down to the smallest details was carefully thought out and beautifully done. The beautiful bright rug from Kechmara Designs and anchor from Urban Farmstead made up the perfect place for the couple to exchange vows.  The floral design done by Thistle and Honey picked up the hues of the valley from deep purple to gold to pale peach tones and included locally foraged golden ferns. Polaroids snapped from their elopement are seen next to their announcement, with an invitation for a reception to celebrate the momentous occasion.

From the creative director Thistle and Honey:

“We love the idea of couples taking to their favorite places to exchange vows in the most sacred of ways. Just the two of them, deeply in love, surrounded by the everlasting beauty that is Tahoe. We picture this couple as the adventurous type, always quick to plan a last minute getaway or take the path less traveled. The idea was to show the two expressing their lifelong commitment to each other privately, and then heading back to the cabin for a BBQ and cracking open their favorite beer. We hope that this inspires couples out there to break free of tradition and to follow their hearts, especially if this leads them to Tahoe.”
