Gatekeeper’s Garden Forest Wedding

Michael and Jenna grew up fifteen minutes apart in the Dallas, Texas area, however it wasn’t until after college that the two met through mutual friends in Houston, Texas. After a few years of dating, Michael popped the question at a local wine bar, the same wine bar where they had their first date. When it came to deciding where to have the wedding, they knew Lake Tahoe was the place for them and fell in love with the woodsy lakeside Gatekeepers Museum in Tahoe City. It was the perfect setting for an elegant forest wedding with variety of muted colors.Planned by Blue Skye Events and captured by High Sierra Photos this fun colorful day was totally and uniquely theirs.

It was important to Michael and Jenna to incorporate as much of their own personal style into the wedding. Michael went with a custom maroon suit and even had the wedding date embroidered in yellow on the collar. He also wanted a stand out tie so they found the perfect floral tie of muted pinks, maroons, blues, and yellows that then went on to become the color inspiration for the wedding and floral arrangements. Michael’s mom even sewed some of the fabric into a table runner for the welcome table! Jenna found her dream sparkly ball gown and had each of her bridesmaids choose their own white gown to capture each of their own individual style.

The wedding was chock full of personal touches that made their wedding totally unique and completely them. The music for the ceremony was played by the grooms childhood friend and the bride did all the signs and stationary for the wedding herself. The cake was even unique in that it was a carrot cake which is the couple’s favorite. The entire weekend was a perfect combination of celebrating and relaxing with their closest friends and family.
