Classic Black and White Wedding at Edgewood Tahoe Resort

After nearly eight years together, Max and Jessica tied the knot in one of the most beautiful places on earth. The couple opted for a classic wedding theme with black and white as the color palette, and let’s just say the result left us speechless!

The couple met as freshmen at the University of Utah. They were both D1 athletes; he played baseball, and she ran track and cross country. These days the couple resides in Southern California with their two golden doodles, Shiner and Tito. Max works for a company based in Orange County, while Jessica is in her final year of pharmacy school.

Max grew up in Arizona, and his family would spend every summer beating the heat in Lake Tahoe. But he’s not the only one who has fond childhood memories of Tahoe; his dad also spent much of his childhood there. Then, a few years into dating Jessica, Max’s parents started to spend more time at the Lake after moving to Carnelian Bay. So it was a no-brainer that Max would get on one knee, with both of their immediate families present, at The Hyatt in Incline Village. On the other hand, Jessica grew up as an Air Force brat moving to new cities and states every few years; she was not tied down to any place to get married. So Lake Tahoe quickly became the perfect location for its beauty and the sentimental value to the couple.

The couple held their rehearsal dinner at Riva Grill. It was the perfect location because their family lives close to Gar Wood’s on the north side of the Lake, and they are obsessed with Wet Woodys. (And, of course, Max and Jessica’s guests needed to experience one of their favorite signature lake drinks!)

The inspiration for their wedding was timeless elegance. “Doing a black and white theme was intentional to let the colors of the scenery and water be the star of the show. I wanted everything we did for design and style to compliment the Lake and venue, not compete with it,” Jessica explained.

Due to the fire threatening Tahoe during their wedding weekend, many other Lake-related activities were canceled. As a result, the guest remained sheltered inside at Edgewood and Harvey’s, away from the smoke. Luckily, this didn’t prevent everyone from making the most of their time together and creating beautiful memories sure to last a lifetime!
