Chic Elopement Inspiration in Lake Tahoe

Even though Lauren and Tom encountered a few bumps along the wedding planning road, photographer Corey Fox remembered their special day fondly. Before COVID-19, the couple had their sights on venues closer to wine country. However, they narrowed in on weddings venues when California was hit with the wildfires and decided to postpone their wedding. And then, of course, COVID happened.⁠

Tom and Lauren were trying to figure out when they could celebrate and decided on 2021. “Then I got a call from them that they would get legally married in October 2020 – the call was in September, so only a few weeks before,” Corey reminisced. So first, they planned a tiny celebration where they would exchange vows with their parents present. Then, Corey convinced Lauren and Tom to use the rest of their planning hours with him to turn their intimate wedding into a beautiful celebration. And that’s exactly what they did! Corey assisted Lauren in hiring her dream team, and it paid off. Kiss & Makeup Tahoe took bridal glam to the next level, while Ashley Brantner from First Pick Planning took charge of the wedding planning. Love & Lupines are to thank for all the floral features, while D’lish Catering ensured that no guest went to bed hungry. Everything just came together perfectly!

The couple decided on Lake Tahoe because they could see it as a beautiful backdrop for an intimate wedding. “It’s a special place for us that feels like home.”

“Our favorite moments were when the wind moved the ceremony to a place we hadn’t considered before. It was initially closer to the lake, but the wind was so bad we moved it to an open park area. Corey and Ashley were great about shifting things on the fly to make that happen seamlessly. We never thought a small wedding was for us, but spending quality time with family to celebrate was amazing,” the couple gushed.
