We love the holidays at Shine Bar Catering and what better excuse to create some yummy seasonal cocktails to accompany your holiday gathering?!

Shine’s Mulled Cider

This is one of our favorite holiday drinks! Not only does it have incredible flavors and aromas, but it is also so simple to make! It is the perfect treat for any holiday gathering and a great choice for sipping while watching your favorite Hallmark movies in your Christmas pajamas!

Ingredients:

  • 1 gallon of unfiltered apple juice or apple cider

  • 1 tablespoon whole cloves

  • 1 tablespoon Allspice

  • 4 cinnamon sticks

  • 1 large orange cut into 1/4 slices

  • 1 apple cut into thin slices

  • 2 cups of spiced white rum

  • Cinnamon powder (as needed)

Start by adding the unfiltered apple juice or cider into a large pot. We recommend a container within the volume range of 8-10 quarts. Add in the cloves, allspice, cinnamon sticks, orange slices, and apple slices. Bring the contents of the pot to a boil and then immediately lower the heat to a simmer. We typically let our Mulled Cider simmer for about 45 minutes to an hour. Mix in the spiced rum when you are ready to serve. Add a dash of cinnamon and enjoy! We love using mule mugs to serve up this delicious drink.

Holiday Mimosa

We LOVE our holiday mimosas and they are the perfect refreshment while you are preparing your winter feasts. Note: It’s also a great way to build some holiday courage to help bring out your inner Mariah for karaoke!

Ingredients:

  • Your favorite champagne

  • Cranberry juice

  • Sugar (for the rim of your glass)

  • Cranberries

  • Simple syrup

Start by adding sugar to the rim of the glass. Then pour chilled champagne in your glass about 3/4 full. Add a dash of simple syrup, and then fill the rest of the cup with cranberry juice. Drop in a few cranberries and voila, you are done! Enjoy!
