Wedding designer Scott Corridan and his team incorporated every type of sunflower one could imagine for Alison and Jon's summer reception at the Lake Tahoe wedding venue Gar Woods. He also hung dozens of paper lanterns from the ceiling along the length of the table, as well as above the dance floor, giving the room a cozier feel without compromising the beautiful wooden beams and vaulted ceilings.
Musician Brian Hess accommodated the couple’s laid-back taste in music while also playing songs that were perfect for dancing. “We had everything from the Beatles to Van Morrison to Notorious B.I.G. It took me a day or two to get my voice back because I was singing the whole night!” said alison. Photographer Corey Fox captured this moment perfectly, and later rolled up his pants and waded out into the water to get some shots of the couple sitting on the side of the pier. Oh the life of a Lake Tahoe wedding photographer!
From the bride ~
I’ve always had a special place in my heart for sunflowers. Some of my fondest childhood memories are with my grandpa, and we would grow sunflowers every summer from seedlings. I knew I wanted to incorporate them into the wedding, and it was a perfect way to honor my grandpa. The fun, casual, flat out happy feeling of sunflowers really inspired the rest of the décor.
