This year has seen a lot of great wedding reception ideas. Think outdoor and tented affairs, hanging installations, and steering away from traditional wedding tabletop decor. While all Tahoe receptions are beautiful and noteworthy, there are a few that we can’t stop thinking about. So we decided to round them up for you!
MICRO AND SOPHISTICATED
Friends and family described Jacquelin and Caleb’s micro wedding as “Pinterest-perfect.” And after seeing Blue Sky Events turn the backyard of a rustic cabin into an elegant yet intimate environment, we have to agree. Take in the voluminous florals, gold lounge furniture, and table accents here and enjoy perusing this gorgeous celebration!
A SUMMER LOVE AFFAIR
After Covid curtailed their original plans, Heather and Davis decided to elope shortly after their original wedding date in 2020. And then when the big day finally arrived in 2021, they made sure they delivered the ultimate party for their guests. From exchanging chips in place of rings to go “All in” on their marriage (a little nod to their college, Clemson University), to a circular bar featuring signature cocktails in honor of their adorable dog, the most epic father-daughter dance involving inflated guitars, and a dreamy Tahoe reception tent that will leave us swooning over greenery and velvet napkins for days…months, no years! Want to see the full wedding? Relive their epic summer love affair here!

AN ALFRESCO CELEBRATION
An outdoors woodsy reception with gorgeous lighting and a vintage trailer bar? Sign us up! Courtney Aaron captured this authentic Tahoe wedding so beautifully and with Blend in the kitchen preparing this feast, we know it was the ultimate Tahoe wedding dinner!
RETREAT TO THE FARM
Will a country-style reception ever go out of style? With its fitting menus, fresh fruit, and green color palette, this autumn table made us want to take a seat.

Tying the knot on the banks of the Little Truckee River surrounded by the tall pines of the Sierra high country has never looked this charming. The outdoor reception was complemented by an outdoor dancefloor, and we are so here for it!
THE POSHEST OF PICNICS
Physically we’re snowed in, but mentally we’re having an Instagram-worthy picnic on the beach. We still can’t get over this rustic yet elegant South Lake Tahoe setup courtesy of Posh Picnic Tahoe.
Ashley and Nick wanted to have an elevated picnic with touches of understated elegance for their wedding. Even though their intimate celebration expanded in size, the couple wanted to retain their original plan’s natural and comfortable atmosphere. And what better way than to include a Shadeshifter tent to accompany the weathered Found wooden tables and loosely gathered florals from Love and Lupines! It all came together so beautifully, don’t you think?
