An Adventurous Local Couple Says I Do at White Wolf

Christy and Trevor are a local Lake Tahoe couple and we love the way their adventurous Tahoe spirit shines through in every detail of their summer wedding celebration at White Wolf.

With broomball, backcountry skiing, and beers on the Tahoe pier as some of their first experiences together, photographer Holly Shankland calls Christy & Trevor’s union “a badass kind of romance,” but the day was full of both fun and tender moments.

The legendary White Wolf property, situated between Alpine Meadows and Squaw Valley, tends to draw outdoorsy couples and Christy says there was no better place to celebrate their love. Guests from all over the world watched as Christy and Trevor danced their first dance on a flat boulder in the middle of an alpine lake, set to a classic Sierra backdrop of steep granite and tall pines.

During the ceremony, the couple built a rock cairn with stones collected from various places that represent their relationship: Lake Tahoe, New Hampshire, Spain, Denver, Reno, and White Wolf. And Christy’s dad, something of a legend in his own right, brought down the house with a toast that was quintessential Tahoe.

Our favorite rustic touches from the day include hickory-striped overalls for the bridal party (no matching robes for this bride!), custom cowbell wedding favors, and a recessional in the back of White Wolf owner Troy Caldwell’s truck. A shot ski was essential, of course, since Christy and Trevor’s first date was just down the road at Alpine Meadows. Dinner Bell Farms’ Molly Nakahara created beautiful wildflower-inspired florals for Christy’s hairpiece and all the bouquets.

Congratulations Christy & Trevor – we’ll see you on the slopes!
