A wedding inspired by all things Tahoe? Sign us up! From wooden oars acting as place cards to making a grand reception entrance on the Wild Goose II, Mike and Kelly’s timeless wedding, captured by Scott & Dana Photographers, was one for the books!
When destination wedding planner Jenn from Jenn Robirds Events first met with Kelly, she wasn’t sure about the direction she wanted to go for her wedding. However, she knew she and Mike loved Lake Tahoe, and the destination is central to their story and theme. Also, they were going to get married on top of a mountain overlooking the lake. “With those two cornerstones, our wedding planning began. The theme and vision for the wedding evolved as we pulled our inspiration from the best that summer has to offer on Lake Tahoe,” Jenn explained.
It’s incredible to see how every element of this wedding told the story of the lake, where the couple shared so many beautiful memories. For example, the shades of dusty blue are a nod to the sparkling lake, while the florals were designed in a sunset palette as a nod to Tahoe’s spectacular sunsets. According to Jenn, “all things Lake Tahoe” shined through in this wedding design. “From wooden oars acting as place cards and favors to the invitation envelope liner giving guests a sneak peek of the climb to the ceremony space, to the letterpress trees on the invitation suite.” But our favorite has to be the life-size seating chart and table numbers that highlighted the couple’s favorite ski slopes in the winter!
