A Sweet Sunset Boat Wedding In Emerald Bay

Kevin and Lisa met in their hometown of Kansas City during the holiday season of 2016 on the plaza. After many calls and texts after meeting, their first date was on New Year’s Eve 2017, and the couple never looked back! Kevin asked Lisa to be exclusive with a family-sized Twizzler pack, with the pieces laid out, asking, “Will You Be My GF” soon after. About two years later, Kevin asked Lisa to marry him on her birthday, (a complete surprise) under the Christmas tree at Union Station in Kansas City.

Lisa and Kevin were thrilled to tie the knot, but agreeing on a location was probably the most difficult part. Mountains and water were two must-haves for Kevin and Lisa. Kevin grew up going to Lake Okoboji in Iowa and his family is very familiar with being on the water. Lisa’s parents have a special place in their hearts for Lake Tahoe after spending many vacations here. Brandi of Indigo Photography helped them decide that getting married on a boat in Lake Tahoe would be the perfect decision for them.

The wedding night was perfect and so were the experiences their family shared on the days leading up to the ceremony! Their guests, which were their immediate family enjoyed hiking the Rubicon Trail, Eagle Falls, and kayaking at Sand Harbor in the days before the wedding.

Exchanging wedding vows in front of their family was their favorite moment. They had their first dance to the Disney song “A Whole New World” from Alladin on the bow of the boat under the stars. The conversations and laughter they shared with their parents and siblings made their wedding unforgettable to them. The whole evening was a perfect celebration! Lake Tahoe now holds an even more special place in their hearts.

Congratulations to Lisa and Kevin! There is no better way to say I Do in Lake Tahoe than on a boat in the middle of the most beautiful lake we have ever seen!
