A Sunny Squaw Valley Wedding

This hilarious and lighthearted couple met ten years ago on the east coast in college. After spending many years in big east coast cities, they knew the west was calling their names and they relocated to the city by the bay. Being so close to Tahoe, they found themselves frequenting the beautiful Sierra Nevada Mountains on a regular basis, even getting engaged in Yosemite. Tahoe was THE spot they knew where they wanted to tie the knot and, after some searching around, they found The Olympic Valley Stables and fell in love. A laid back party in the mountains surrounded by family and friends was the most important aspect in their planning and the Stables provided everything they were looking for.

After getting ready down the street at The Resort at Squaw Creek, the wedding party headed up the valley and it was time to get the day started. Nearby summer fires had filled the valley with smoke in the weeks leading up to their August wedding date, but in a stroke of luck, the majority of the smoke had lifted on their big day. Leaving only a slight haze, the summer sun soaked the venue with the most beautiful dreamy light that photographer Bianca Sciotto captured perfectly.

Guests arrived and were welcomed into a beautifully decorated site by the fabulous Jalie Events. Lush greenery lined the chairs and tables with gorgeous florals done by Love and Lupines while the natural beauty of Squaw Valley provided the most epic of backdrops. Set against the sunny skies, Erin and Connor exchanged lighthearted but meaningful vows and became husband and wife. Now it was time to do what they wanted most…party with their loved ones, and did they ever!

A fabulous and colorful spread of food was set for all to enjoy by the one and only Butter and SaltCatering. Drinks flowed, hilarious speeches ensued, and it was finally time to dance! DJ Isaac Freed spun all the hits and it was, by far, one of the best dance parties!

As the sun began to dip below the mountain tops, the happy couple slipped away for their first photos as husband and wife. Strolling through the tall grass of the valley floor, dancing and embracing, it was easy to see how bright their love shined for one another. They returned to join the party and danced the night away under the twinkling lights of Squaw Valley.
