A Snowy Microwedding On The Slopes At Northstar

One of the most unique things about Lake Tahoe as a wedding destination is that there are so many ways to get married here. Emily and Branden went the snowy snowboard wedding route and we are absolutely loving the playfulness of their special day!

This Seattle couple both grew up coming to Tahoe to ski and specifically wanted to get married at a cabin and then ski/ride together as the highlight of their wedding day. Northstar California provided the perfect venue, where Emily and Branden rented a huge house where their friends and family could all stay together.

In the great room of the house, with its commanding stone fireplace, Meredith Richmond officiated the ceremony as snow began to fall outside. Photographer Holly Shankland is always up for adventurous wedding photos and captured the ceremony before heading outside to photograph both the couple and their wedding parties in one of the biggest snowstorms of 2020!

Hitting the slopes together in the middle of the blizzard was exhilarating and everything Emily and Branden hoped for when they planned their Lake Tahoe microwedding. At the end of the day, they soaked in the home’s hot tub and watched the storm continue to roll in – relishing in the joy of spending the perfect day with their favorite people in a place they dearly love. The couple and their guests also enjoyed an unforgettable charcuterie board from Platterfare.

Congratulations Emily and Branden – we hope you have this much fun and bring this much snow with you every time you come to Tahoe!
