A Mountain Rustic Styled Shoot at Rainbow Lodge

A hidden Tahoe gem in nearby Soda Springs, the Rainbow Lodge was built in 1869 and serves as the setting for this autumnal styled shoot photographed by Holly Shankland. “Mountain rustic” is the vibe here, with local granite, hand-hewn logs, and authentic vintage decor appearing throughout the lodge. Once a stagecoach stop for those traversing the Sierra Nevada by horse and wagon, the Rainbow Lodge sits on 114 rugged acres along the South Yuba River and sleeps 88 people.

The Fall hues aglow across the property’s aspen and pine groves perfectly accentuate the styling of this beautifully bohemian photoshoot. The embroidered, fringe-forward gown is by Rue De Seine and was fitted by Swoon Bridal in Reno, Nevada. Local beauty pros Kiss and Makeup and Zoe Jane Hair created a natural, romantic look for Aubrey McCready (herself a Lake Tahoe photographer), who served as a model along with her husband Aaron. Truckee-based Love & Lupines designed the gorgeous bouquet and boutonniere that are absolutely exploding with Fall color.

We’re big fans of styled shoot inspiration and this one brings it all: love, history, local vendor talent, and the natural, glowing beauty of the High Sierra!
