This crisp, light and airy Tahoe inspired wedding at the gorgeous Edgewood resort is the perfect Tahoe summer wedding inspiration for you. Elegantly done by Tahoe Unveiled’s own Marcella Camille Events and Ash and Lily floral!
Kelsey and Matt met 6 years ago when they moved to Reno, NV. They started out as friends, but quickly learned that they were meant to be together. Because Tahoe is a short drive from Reno, Kelsey and Matt spent their weekends hiking and falling in love. So, when looking for a venue for their wedding, they knew they needed to get married in Tahoe. Even though they moved away, they knew that Tahoe would be the best place to start their marriage because after all their relationship started there as well.
The design inspiration for Kelsey and Matt’s wedding was Lake Tahoe itself and the stunning venue Edgewood. They incorporated the light and airy vibe of the lake with a classic twist that still integrates the pops of blue to mirror the lake. They wanted custom touches that welcomed their guests personally, especially since they traveled so far! Most of their family and friends came from the eastern US.
The bride and groom chose to have a first look. Because of that, they got to go to Zephyr beach to take their newlywed photos and bridal party photos. This gave them the opportunity to spend some time together and with their closest friends. Doing a first look has so many perks like spending alone time with your partner during the day that you may not have had the chance to do if you had not done a first look.
The ceremony was lovely overlooking the Lake, which the arch floral arrangements complemented perfectly. The bridal party was in all black, keeping the classy look, with pops of blue in their bouquets to tie in ‘Tahoe blue’. The flower girls were in all white and were escorted by their dads. The oldest flower girl happened to be the photographer’s daughter. The ceremony was heartfelt and lovely, there were only smiles. The bride escorted by her father was gorgeous in her simple but elegant gown.
During cocktail hour, Kelsey and Matt got to enjoy the time because they did a first look and got most of their photos out of the way before cocktail hour. The only photos they needed to do were the large family photos and a handful of couple photos. The decor for the cocktail hour was elegant and simple, and obviously inspired by Tahoe itself. The cocktail tables had a unique floral arrangement that was super fresh and clean, adding to the Tahoe theme of this event. The bar had a lovely floral arrangement on the top of the bar that perfectly brought in the wedding colors while sticking to the light and airy floral theme. In that arrangement there was a sign that said “Drinks on Laverne” Laverne is the couple’s pup that could not be at the wedding, but they still wanted him to be included in their special day. The couple got to enjoy a few of their signature cocktails, an old fashion for him and Blackberry mule for her.
This couple was very intentional with their design choices. For each place setting, the couple had written a note to each of their guests with a photo of the bride and/or groom with that guest. This was such a beautiful way they made their guests feel seen and loved. The parents of the couple had the cutest pictures with the couple as children. On top of those, they had a hand painted wooden Tahoe cutout with the guest’s name on it. The color of the cutout indicated their meal choice! The tables had a mix of elevated florals and table florals. This was a stunning way to make the whole room feel crisper and clear. The arch florals were repurposed for the reception room behind the couple, making the photos for toasts very elegant.
The party was everyone’s favorite part of the evening, complete with a red wig that was passed around the room. The bride and groom provided light up sticks that made for such a cool exit photo.
