Matt and Tara are destination wedding photographers living in the Lake Tahoe area. Their work has been internationally awarded and published, but more importantly it will be cherished by couples for generations. With a background in fine art and editorial photography, they not only capture the important moments and expected photographs of the day; but strive to make artful and unique images that reflect the couple’s love and personalities.
Matt’s interest in photography began while living in Yosemite National Park, climbing the giant rock walls. This love for photographing the landscape and adventure sports led him to study photography at the University of Nevada and receive a BFA in photography and videography. His work is frequently exhibited and published on an international scale.
Some of Tara’s earliest and dearest memories are smiling into a lens. Her grandfather literally documented her childhood on film: 8 mm movies and 35 mm still. Her own love for photography was spurred in her early twenties when this same grandfather honored her by giving her one of his old cameras when she moved out west – then her self-teaching began. Her formal photographic education continued as she and Matt started working together.
Their passion for photography grew as they became friends, traveled together and fell in love. They love being lost behind the lens together.
