Think of your hair as a lovely accessory full of possibilities. For your bridal coif, why not venture off the beaten path and create something super romantic yet a touch whimsical. We love the milkmaid braid. Although they look super complicated they are actually one of the easier braids to master and add a touch of bohemian romance. Top your bridal braid off with a gorgeous flower and you will be the most lovely bride in sight.

One glance at the gowns on the Haute Couture runways in Paris, and you’ll believe in magic. With thousands of beads sewn on by hand, the most luxurious fabrics money can buy, and designs worthy of a place in the Louvre, Haute Couture gowns are as enchanting coming down the aisle as they are coming down the runway. So tell us, which of these looks would you want to steal for yourself? Here are 4 gowns we’d be more than happy to wear at our wedding (if we have the chance to do it all over again, same hubby of course!).

From the color of the year, radiant orchid, to deep amethyst, emerald green and ruby red, jewel toned bridesmaid dresses are the perfect addition to a Lake Tahoe wedding. We love the idea of outfitting your bridesmaids in a style idea instead of just one color, and an array of jewel colored bridesmaid dresses are just it. These rich tones are especially nice when paired with an earth tone or neutral wedding, where the colors really pop!

Alfred Angelo, America’s oldest and foremost bridal company, debuted its magical 2017 Disney Fairy Tale Weddings bridal collection yesterday during the start of New York Bridal Fashion Week. The 2017 collection will feature two new designs inspired by Disney Princess characters, Mulan and Ariel, along with two special edition fairy tale gowns to its already popular collection of nine Disney Princess inspired wedding dresses.
The stunning wedding gown inspired by the story of Mulan, is designed with tulle over charmeuse and features a sweetheart neckline with a sheer yoke, mandarin collar, and a dramatic keyhole back with self-covered buttons. The new 2017 collection of 13 stunning gowns is infused with the latest trends in runway fashions, and epitomizes the strength and unique personality of each Disney Princess for a bride’s own “…happily ever after.”
“We are excited to have two powerful and brave heroines serve as an additional source of inspiration for the Disney Fairy Tale Weddings collection this year,” says Bill Pesce, Head Designer at Alfred Angelo. “Their independent spirits, diverse story-telling and strong personalities are characteristics that modern brides can relate to.”
In celebration of 25 years of Disney’s Fairy Tale Weddings & Honeymoons, the collection sparkles like never before with the inclusion of two limited edition gowns adorned with precious crystals. Inspired by Disney Princess characters Belle and Cinderella, these legacy dresses are styles which have been much-loved the world over. In 2017, these two designs will be remastered with new and elevated details, more luxurious fabrication and embellished with opulent crystal beading. These gowns will be available for a very limited time and on tour at trunk shows across the country before returning “back to the vault” at the end of 2017.
Ariel: Free spirited lines and flowing tulle ruffles, this gown is a true reflection of Ariel, princess of the sea. The fitted embroidered lace overlay bodice has been embellished from the sweetheart neckline through the low dropped waistline with pearls, caviar beads and crystal beading. The mermaid silhouette features a sheer cut-out at the back neckline which adds a touch of light-hearted allure. Pearl buttons and a voluminous ruffled skirt with horsehair trim and a chapel length train finishes the gown.
Belle: Timeless grace abounds in this diaphanous tulle overlay wedding dress bringing together a structured natural waist bodice and a romantic tulle skirt creating a look that is as strong and independent as Belle herself. The entire gown has been embellished with embroidered lace, crystal beading, sequins and pearls. The gown features a softly-draped skirt and a detachable rhinestone and silver-beaded sash that sparkles with the fire of her determination and intelligence.
Cinderella: Timelessly beautiful ball gown that glitters with the romance of Cinderella’s magical night. The sweetheart bodice has been decorated at the neckline and natural waistline with rhinestones, pearls and radiant silver beading. Beautiful embroidered lace adorns the bodice and cascades down the A-line skirt and chapel length train.
Mulan: The tulle over charmeuse fit and flare gown is styled after the brave and strong Disney Princess Mulan.. It features a sweetheart neckline with a sheer yoke, mandarin collar, and a dramatic keyhole back with self-covered buttons. The entire gown has been embellished throughout with dramatic embroidered lace and crystal beading. The softly-flared skirt has a floor length liner and dramatic sheer semi-cathedral length train.

Every single thing in the Anthropologie-inspired bridal collection BHLDN–the name refers to the Dutch word behouden, meaning “to keep”–incorporates a surprising fine detail. From a horsehair-style hem, which creates a softer silhouette, to the delicate boning in an inner corset, these touches are all part of an effort to make a woman feel like something more than a cookie-cutter bride. “We want to give our bride an heirloom-quality wedding gown,” Coralie Stanton, the brand’s design director and Vera Wang alumna, says of the new line.
The main attraction, of course, is the gowns, which range between $1,000 – $4,000 and are designed with alterations in mind. For those seeking an even less traditional look, there’s an opportunity to, as Stanton notes, “build your own wedding dress or second dress” thanks to a selection of separates.
They didn’t stop at the dress. The BHLDN collection also includes jeweled headpieces, veils, antique jewelry, footwear, and lingerie–not to mention serving pieces, decor, paper goods, cake toppers and gifts.
The ultimate goal is to give creative power back to the bride, whether she wants a dress whose vintage feel will mesh with a hairpin that belonged to her grandmother, or bridal party clad in the furthest thing from a uniform. “We’re always inspired by tradition,” Stanton says, “but for now we’re turning it on its ear and letting the bride adorn herself.” Bhldn.com.

Cartier jewelry has graced some of the world’s most famous brides and marked some of the past century’s greatest love affairs. But how did all this get started?
Caveman reportedly tied cords of braided grass around the wrists, ankles, and waists of their intendeds. By the first century AD the betrothal process had evolved; Pliny the Elder recorded instances of grooms giving brides bands to wear to wedding ceremonies. It took another 1,400 years for a diamond to appear at an engagement, when Archduke Maximilian I of Austria proposed to Mary of Burgundy with a ring set with flat diamonds in the shape of the letter M.
But it wasn’t until the late 19th century, with the discovery of South African mines, that a diamond engagement ring became de rigueur–which also happened to coincide with the birth of the house of Cartier. Louise Cartier took full advantage of new technologies that made platinum highly flexible and thus suitable for his intricately embroidered jewelry designs, which were inspired by the architectural motifs of Paris’ great cathedrals.
Soon after, Cartier jewelry became a central figure in some of the great love stories of the 20th century: as a diadem worn by Russian Princess Irina at her wedding to Prince Felix Yusupov in 1914; in the form of a 20-carat emerald ring presented by King Edward VIII to Mrs. Wallis Simpson; in the shape of the large white diamond ring worn by Grace Kelly in High Society, which, unknown to audiences at the time, had been given to her by her future husband, Prince Rainier of Monaco. Most recently Cartier adorned the head of the newly ennobled Duchess of Cambridge at her wedding to the future king of England.

Lake Tahoe winters are hard on your skin, so make sure to enter summer with the best beauty products. Here are some of my favorite products I will be rocking this beautiful summer season.
FAKE BAKE SELF TANNER
Come summer, a great self tanner that fools everyone into thinking winter wasn’t rough on your complexion tops the list of makeup bag updates. I swear by Fake Bake’s Flawless Self Tan Liquid for getting a blast of natural looking, sun-kissed color all over my body.
Flawless Self Tan Liquid, $28 from Dermstore
LONDONTOWN NAIL POLISH
LONDONTOWN is my new favorite nail polish! The colors are so vibrant and if your use their top coat, the polish is incredibly long lasting. The polishes are vegan, 9-free and super hydrating, infused with flower oils such as Evening Primrose and Rapeseed to prevent nails from cracking and splitting.
LONTONTOWN Lakur, $16 at Beauty.com
TRUST FUND BEAUTY
I was so happy to find out that Trust Fund Beauty had expanded into lipsticks. I’ve loved them for their vegan and cruelty free nail polish in great colors. The lipsticks and glosses are to die for. Cute packaging, long lasting and shades that compliment my brunette hair and my blond roommate alike. Summer must-have!
Trust Fund Beauty Lipstick, $22 at Trust Fund
I’m not the type of girl who sits on the sidelines all summer. You can find me hiking up a sweat and getting out on my paddleboard. That’s why I am so picky about what foundation I use in the summer. Luckly I found Oxygenetix. Their smudge proof and sweat proof formula also prevents nasty clogged pores from the effects of sunscreen.
Oxygenating Foundation Acne Control, $76 at Dermstore
This is my secret for brighter eyes! Just a drop or two in the morning and a refresh in the afternoon. Also, to keep a fresh look all day, start your makeup routine by using eye drops. You can relieve redness or irritation on the skin by applying eye drops with a cotton ball on dry skin before your makeup routine.
Clear Eyes Pure Relief, $16 at Amazon.com

We see a lot of beautiful bridesmaids dresses at Lake Tahoe weddings and it’s these gorgeous trends that inspired us to come up with the perfect nail polish pairings for your girls. The one nail color that seems to go with just about every dress is blush. Thanks to our new favorite nail polish company, Londontown, we were able to pair some of our favorite Lake Tahoe bridesmaid dresses with all different shades of blush.
And remember, one of the best accessories for a bridesmaid dress is a perfectly-polished manicure!
