What inspired you to start your own business and why Tahoe?
Living in Tahoe has many obvious advantages, however, making a living sometimes requires creativity. It’s never a bad idea to have two jobs here, so after finishing massage therapy school I decided to start my own business. Those of us who live in Tahoe could probably all agree that if you can find a way to stay here permanently, it’s certainly worth it!
How long have you been practicing Massage Therapy and what is your background?
I’ve been practicing massage for two and a half years, since completing school at the Body Being Massage School in Truckee. I am also nationally certified through the National Certification Board for Therapeutic Massage & Bodywork.
What practices do you specialize in?
I specialize in Therapeutic Massage, Deep Tissue, CranioSacral Therapy, and Thai Yoga Massage. I typically blend therapeutic and deep tissue techniques, along with stretching and cranial moves when necessary. I really love doing thai yoga massage, and if you’ve never had one before, it’s a rejuvenating practice that helps sore and tight muscles to relax and stretch out…amazing after skiing or biking!
What are some of your most popular treatments?
Typically people are looking for deep tissue work to release sore muscles, or therapeutic to relax, so those are the most popular requests.
Although you are located in north lake, are you willing to travel to other areas of the lake or basin?
Yes, I’m willing to travel. I do charge an additional fee, however, for travel over 20 miles. But I’m willing to work something out with my clients!
Are there any other treatments you offer? Any alternative treatments?
I also offer cupping, which is one of the oldest methods of Traditional Chinese Medicine. Cupping consists of glass cups that are used as a vacuum to encourage the flow of blood and qi (energy). The benefits of cupping also include breaking up obstructions in the body and creating an avenue for toxins to be drawn out of the body.
Do you have any specials?
I offer a thai yoga and cupping package for $80.
*Thanks for all the info MK & we’re so happy you’ve joined Tahoe Unveiled!!
