This might be the most romantic couple we have seen all year! They are absolutely gorgeous together. When we see a wedding like this we truly remember how lucky we are to live in Lake Tahoe. The royal blue lake, white sand beaches, snow-capped mountains, and the sun that shines for 300 days a year. It is all very unreal. Photographer Steve Stanton did a fabulous job showcasing the perfection of the wedding venue, the Hyatt Regency Lake Tahoe, and capturing the affection between the couple. Heather Spear at Summit Soiree spared no expense in the details.

From Summit Soiree ~

This couple was from Colorado who wanted a destination wedding in Lake Tahoe for their guests to enjoy a weekend of fun and frolic on the beaches of Incline Village, Nv. They had their wedding on a Monday so all their travelling guests could enjoy a summer weekend in Lake Tahoe ending with their wedding celebration!

Their theme and style was a mix between vintage and retro-modern accents. They wanted an organic outdoor wedding celebration among the towering pine trees and Lake Tahoe sandy beaches. They embraced all their senses with lemons, eucalyptus, succulents and other California classics. Lots of bright lemon/citrus yellow and whites, along with touches of grey/aluminum. Large classic daisies with white and yellow spider mums were incorporated throughout the wedding. Vintage umbrellas in lemon yellow, white and grey hung above the dance floor and dining area with a candy table with every kind of yellow and white candy imaginable.

This week for Honeymoon Friday, we’re looking at honeymoon photo sessions – which I highly recommend! Honeymoons are a pretty big expense and why not capture them with a session! It’s something you will treasure forever – professional pictures in a beautiful location with you and your spouse in LOVE!

Lake Tahoe Wedding | Sugar Bowl Beauty

Larissa and Trevor’s wedding, captured by Heidi Huber Photography, is soft, sweet and cozy in all the ways a Tahoe wedding on top of a mountain should be! A touch of rustic here, and a dab of vintage there and before you know it, it’s the perfect combination of charming and beautiful!

From the Photographer ~

Larissa and Trevor were so incredibly adorable to photograph for their amazing Lake Tahoe wedding at the Sugar Bowl Ski Resort overlooking Norden and Ice Lakes in Tahoe. Larissa planned her colors to be pink, orange, sage and grey and it blended perfectly for her early Autumn wedding with vintage and rustic details spread throughout. A chairlift ride up to the top of Disney Mountain for a glorious overview of Tahoe accompanied their cocktail hour. Following dinner, Larissa and Trevor sang to each other as a special surprise for all their guests!

As the colder months roll in, a bold statement or pop of color adds a great touch of brightness to any wedding day look.  And the statement necklace is so on trend right now.  These classic necklaces go for a twist when the beads are piled high or full of color.  Would you wear a bold statement necklace on your wedding day?

It’s been an on-going debate for the last six months or between the bridesmaids in my roommate’s wedding:  should the shoes all match or not? Some of us thought it would look more uniform if the shoes were all exactly the same, others thought we should just stick with the same color, and a few thought we should just wear whatever we wanted. What are eight girls to do? Maybe you can help us out with the inspirations below!

So, what’s your vote?

Up, up and away! They say that laughter is the best medicine, so humor your inner child and wash away the wedding stresses with a little wonder and whimsy on your big day. Use monochromatic balloons for a more streamlined, elegant look, or go crazy with colors if you’re down for a party. Big round ones add a vintage vibe, while hearts or stars create retro flair. Whatever you do, keep it up in the air!

I love yellow of the not-so-mellow variety. The brighter, the better. And major pops of yellow in a Spring wedding are the perfect and most utterly cheerful way to celebrate love, joy, and a colorful and wonderful life together. Too cheesy? (I didn’t think so!)
